Biography

Alireza Khatibi was born on May 19, 1976, in Tehran. Encouraged by his father and uncle from an early age, he became familiar with painting (charcoal, watercolor, gouache, oil), caricature, and calligraphy, as well as the works of artists such as Picasso and Van Gogh. Later, upon discovering the works of artists like Anselm Kiefer and Gerhard Richter, he developed an interest in abstract art. Drawn to the freedom this style offers—where there are no constraints in the creative process—he chose abstraction as a means to preserve hope, strive for personal growth, practice patience, and convey these sentiments to his audience. Nature, especially the underwater world, along with music and books, serve as key sources of inspiration in his creative process.
